Start with an individual medical consultation, available in person or virtually. Your provider reviews your health history, current medications, previous weight-management experience, goals, and whether GLP-1 treatment may be appropriate for you.

If medication is prescribed, your provider determines your medication, formulation, and dose based on your individual treatment plan.

What medication does this program offer?
Our current compounded options contain tirzepatide with B12, Glycine, or L-Carnitine, when prescribed. Tirzepatide acts on both GIP and GLP-1 receptors involved in appetite regulation. Your NP determines whether medication is appropriate. About tirzepatide
Who may be a candidate for medical weight management?
Weight-management medication is generally considered for adults with a BMI of 30 or higher, or 27 or higher with a weight-related condition. These are general criteria, not automatic approval. Your NP reviews your health history, medications, eating patterns, and goals. NIDDK guidance
Can GLP-1 medication treat binge eating disorder?
GLP-1 medications are not FDA-approved to treat binge eating disorder (BED). Early research is limited, and appetite reduction is not the same as treating an eating disorder. When will I notice results?
Appetite and weight changes vary. There is no guaranteed timeline or amount of weight loss. Your provider reviews progress over time, including tolerability and overall health. Nutrition, movement, and ongoing support remain part of weight management. What to expect
Are compounded medications FDA-approved?
No. Compounded medicines do not undergo FDA review for safety, effectiveness, or quality. They are not FDA-approved generics of brand-name medicines. FDA recommends using them only when an FDA-approved drug cannot meet a patient’s medical needs. FDA information
How do I choose between B12, Glycine, and L-Carnitine?
Your provider reviews the available formulations and their suitability for your individual needs. No option is automatically best for everyone. We do not promise that an added ingredient will produce greater weight loss or replace nutrition, activity, and ongoing medical care.
Can I transfer from another provider?
Yes. A Transfer of Care Appointment lets your NP review your current prescription and treatment history. Have your medication label, last-dose date, and relevant records available. Continuing the same medication or dose depends on the evaluation.

How much does the monthly medication cost?
B12 or Glycine formulations start at $199/month; a supply for a prescribed 7.5 mg weekly dose is $299/month. L-Carnitine formulations start at $295/month; a supply for a prescribed 7.5 mg weekly dose is $345/month. Pricing depends on your prescription. Ask our team about consultation and follow-up fees.
What does a monthly supply mean?
Medication is ordered based on your current prescribed dose. Confirm the number of weekly doses and next order date with our team: a four-week supply covers 28 days, which may not match a calendar month. Do not stretch a supply by changing your dose.
What comes with my medication?
Your shipment includes your medication vial, insulin syringes, alcohol prep wipes, and injection and medication directions for reference. Review the pharmacy label with each new shipment and contact your provider if anything is unclear.
Can I have medication delivered to my home?
Yes. Medication can be shipped to your home or The Well House for pickup. Confirm the delivery address and timing with our team before the order is placed. Let us know early if your address or pickup preference changes.
How do monthly refills and dose changes work?
Coordinate your next supply with our team before you run out. Ordering a refill confirms the current prescription; it does not automatically change your dose. Tell your provider about side effects, missed doses, or a treatment interruption before ordering. Processing and shipping times can vary.
How often do I need a follow-up?
Patients generally meet with the Nurse Practitioner approximately every three months for monitoring and treatment review. Additional visits may be needed. Do not wait until a scheduled check-in to report side effects or ask medication questions.
Are visits available virtually?
Initial consultations and ongoing care offer virtual and in-person options when appropriate. Our team can help you choose the correct appointment and confirm whether a virtual visit is available for your location.
Using your medication safely
How do I know how much to inject?
Use your current prescription and pharmacy directions. Milligrams (mg), milliliters (mL), and syringe units are different measurements. Do not reuse an old syringe-unit amount for a new vial without confirming the concentration and directions. Ask your provider or pharmacist to confirm your draw amount before injecting.
What if I miss a dose or take a break?
Follow the missed-dose instructions for your prescription or contact your provider. Do not double a dose or restart after an extended break without guidance. Your treatment may need reassessment.
What side effects should I know about?
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal discomfort, reflux, and fatigue can occur. Symptoms may improve, but they are not always mild. Contact your provider for persistent or worsening symptoms. Serious risks include pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, dehydration-related kidney injury, and allergic reactions. When should I get urgent help?
Seek urgent medical care for severe or persistent abdominal pain, repeated vomiting, or inability to keep fluids down. Call 911 for trouble breathing, face or throat swelling, or collapse. Do not take another dose when pancreatitis or a serious allergic reaction is suspected; seek medical guidance. Medication warnings
Who should avoid tirzepatide or discuss extra precautions?
Do not use tirzepatide with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC), MEN 2, or a serious allergy to its ingredients. Discuss pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, kidney problems, diabetic eye disease, and severe digestive conditions; severe gastroparesis is a reason it is not recommended. Safety summary
What about pregnancy, birth control, or other medications?
Stop tirzepatide and contact your provider if pregnant. Discuss pregnancy plans and breastfeeding before treatment. Oral birth-control users should add a barrier method or switch to a non-oral method for four weeks after starting and each dose increase. Review all medicines, especially insulin and sulfonylureas. How should I store my medication, and what if it arrives warm?
Follow the pharmacy’s refrigeration and storage directions. Do not use injectable GLP-1 medication that arrives warm or inadequately refrigerated. Contact the dispensing pharmacy and The Well House for next steps; ice packs alone do not establish that a shipment stayed within its required temperature range. FDA shipping guidance
How long can I use an opened vial?
For compounded GLP-1 multidose vials, FDA recommends discarding within 28 days after first use, even if medication remains or the compounder allows longer. Follow an earlier discard date if supplied. Use a new sterile needle and syringe each time. FDA multidose-vial guidance
